Marar Paneer


Matar Paneer is a combination of two amazing ingredients that are perfect for the vegetarians. Matar means peas and Paneer means Cottage cheese both these ingredients are rich in proteins and carbohydrates.


Matar paneer is a delicious recipe served with hot chapatis, pulaos, and naan.   This recipe is prepared in many ways in India. Every house has different recipe of matar paneer.

2 servings.       Time :  20-30 mints

INGREDIENTS :

Green peas ( matar) - 1 cup
Paneer ( cottage cheese) - 10-12 cubes
Onion - 2
Tomato - 1
Groundnut oil - 2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida (hing) -1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
Kitchen king masala - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp ( as required)
Coriander leaves - as required

METHOD:

 Heat oil in a frying pan. Once oil is hot add mustard seeds let it crackle. Add chopped onions, asafoetida and turmeric powder. Saute onions until it turns translucent.Add ginger-garlic paste and few coriander leaves as it adds nice armoa to dish.

Add Red chili powder & Kitchen king masala saute for 2-3sec.

Now add chopped tomatoes. Cook for few seconds. Add 1/4 cup water. Let it cook till tomatoes gets soft and mashy.

Next add Matar mix it and add water. Cook for few mints. Adjust water according to need.

Once peas are cooked add Panner and salt mix it gently. Cook for 3-4 mints.

Garnish with coriander leaves and our Matar paneer is ready for serving.

The gravy is served with hot chapatis, plain white rice, pulaos, and naan. 

TIP: 
Don't stir much after u add paneer as panner cubes can break into pieces.

Don't overcook after adding paneer as the paneer may become hard and rubbery.
