This vegan thandai recipe uses almond milk and coconut milk as the base, which makes it dairy-free and vegan. It also uses dates and jaggery as natural sweeteners, which are much healthier alternatives to processed sugar.
Ingredients:
Fennel Seeds/Saunf - 1Tsp
White Poppy Seeds - 1Tsp
Fresh Coconut (sliced) - 1Cup
Black Pepper Powder - 1/4 Tsp
Jaggery Powder - 3 Tsp
Almond - 8 No.
Dates - As Required
Water - 2 Cup
- Soak almonds for 6 hours also fennel seeds and poppy seeds for minimum 1 hour.
- Add the soaked almonds, fennel seeds, white poppy seeds, black peppercorns, dates, and jaggery to a blender or food processor.
- Add some water to the blender and blend everything into a smooth paste.
Cooking:
- In a mixi jar add water drained almond, poppy and fennel seeds. to this also add deseeded dates, jaggery and black pepper powder and grind it all together.
